Introduction to CORPRO

Are you looking for a handy tool to analyze Chinese language texts? Let’s try CORPRO! It is a Chinese corpus-based text mining software. Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with programming – this software is designed to be user-friendly and accessible to everyone (without programming skills) to conduct textual-mining independently.

CORPRO allows you to incorporate your own compiled corpus and set up customized analysis conditions. You can define your own dictionaries, stop words and words-grouping, etc. With CORPRO, you can perform various corpus analysis functions with ease. These include examining term frequencies, collocations, keywords in corpus and concordance, all with related statistics.

「庫博中文語料庫分析工具」(CORPRO) 是以語料庫語言學為基礎的電腦輔助文本分析軟體工具，功能包括詞彙編輯（包括自建詞典、停用詞、同類詞）、詞頻統計、詞彙之間的搭配關係、文本語料庫比較之正負顯著詞彙、關鍵詞索引。
「庫博」設計提供人文研究可以個別設定研究所需之斷詞、類目建構、語助詞篩選等功能。
庫博介面設計有利於沒有電腦程式語言能力之人文社會研究者單獨操作，使研究者便捷發掘文本語料有趣的特徵，並反覆試驗文本語料。目的在於提供人文學者檢視文本語料時與本身學科領域知識對話的機會。

Open CORPRO in Windows

Open the CORPRO software in Windows is straightforward:

Download the software here: http://nlp.cse.ntou.edu.tw/CORPRO/
Unzip the file and double click “CORPRO.exe” to open the software.

Open CORPRO in Mac/Linux

For Mac/Linux, simply double click “CORPRO” to open the software. It may take a few seconds to launch the software.

If it does not work, you may try the following steps*:

Download the software here: http://nlp.cse.ntou.edu.tw/CORPRO/
Open the terminal in Mac/Linux.

3. Change Directory: In the terminal, use the cd command to navigate to the folder where the CORPRO software is located.

cd folderpath

4. Set Permissions: To ensure the software is executable, enter the following command in the Terminal window and press Enter. This command grants the necessary permissions to run the software.

chmod +x CORPRO

5. Run the Software: Finally, execute the software by typing the following command in the Terminal window and pressing Enter. This command launches the software.
