The film industry is one of the core cultural industries in both China and Western countries, and serves as an important representation of national image and soft power. This project aims to compare and analyze data from two mainstream film rating platforms, IMDB and Douban, in order to understand the characteristics and differences of mainstream films from East and West in terms of production countries, genre, and audience preferences, as well as to further explore cultural differences and issues of cultural discourse.
